Bike Ride 1
4/6/20
David: This is our first official entry on Old New England Cars and the first ever ONEC Bike Ride. There aren't a lot of cars spotted on this one, but this bike ride would spark the inspiration for one of the longest running series on the blog, the Bike Ride series. This is the beginning of ONEC.
Camry Cluster
Here is a cluster of 1980s Toyota Camrys. I remember finding these because I remember thinking it was bizarre that someone was saving all these old Camrys. You can't see them, but to the right of this photo is another Camry and an old Winnebago also from the same era. They aren't in the most amazing shape, but good for this guy for saving such great 80s cars.
1976 Dodge Charger: A Forgotten Classic
This is a 1976 Dodge Charger. This is a perfect example of what American cars became in the late 1970s. What once was a powerful muscle car, became... this. The owner has modified the car with some sportier rims, but it still is essentially a Chrysler Cordoba with Dodge Charger badging. Gotta love the malaise era of American cars.
Aside from this being the "Mustang II" of Dodge Chargers, I find this to be a very interesting car that someone would save. If you also take away the fact that this a Dodge Charger, it is not a bad looking car. The owner has done a great job maintaining it too, and making it look good. So for an era of cars that doesn't get a lot of love, someone out there cared enough to save this. Awesome.
2022 Update: I can now confirm that this is a 1976 Charger, and it has 57,000 original miles on it, all found out via a Craigslist ad.
1970 Ford Mustang Convertible Project
This is a work in progress that I am honestly not sure on the current state of. However, it appears to be in decent shape, so I hope the owner has finished it. I would really love to see this back on the road.
Above: Triple Trouble! 1962 Chevy Pickup, 1971 Lincoln Continental, and a 1964 Buick LeSabre
It's triple trouble right here. In the back is a 1962 Chevy Pickup, in the front is a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mk. III. I remember I spotted the truck first, then when I came around to check it out, I saw the Continental. But that's not all...
In the second pic, you will see a 1964 Buick LeSabre. This car appears to be receiving some maintenance, but looks to be in great shape.
