Scituate Police Car Show

9/22/2019

ONEC's first car show! The show took place at the RI State Police Barracks and Museum in North Scituate. There was a lot of classic police cars and even some old muscle cars that sadly didn't get photographed. However, Sam and I managed to capture what we thought were the best looking police cars.

Car Show Overview

Here is a shot of some of the police cars at the show. I think this shows pretty much every type of car that was there. Here you can see a  Ford Crown Victoria, Dodge Monaco, Chevy Caprice, and a Plymouth Fury. Most of these cars made up the show, with the exception of a few others not pictured.

Above: Dodge Ram Charger Police Truck (California Highway Patrol)

Nope its not a Bronco! It's a Dodge Ram Charger Police Truck. This was the only truck at the police show, and its definitely a nice one. It wasn't the only CHP car at the show. There also was a 1974 Dodge Monaco. This Mopar truck won best in show and for good reason. Speaking of Mopars, no, we didn't see any Bluesmobiles.

1977 Plymouth Fury Police Car (New York PD)

I think this was one of the cleanest cars at the show. I believe this a true NYPD car too. The beautiful blue paint on the car really made it stand out from the rest.

Next to it was a 90s Chevy Caprice Police Interceptor that had this weird light bar that would raise up. You can see it in the picture. According to the owner, this was so the car would be visible if stopped on the highway. Definitely a very interesting piece of equipment.

Plymouth Reliant Police Car (NYPD)

What you are looking at here is indeed a K-Car. This is a 1980s Plymouth Reliant police car. I think it was an '85 or an '86 to be specific. It was honestly the most ironic car I've ever seen as these weren't particularly known for being fast vehicles. I also thought the plate also added to the greatness of this car. For some reason I only captured a picture of the license plate. The car was too captivating.

Above: 1950 Ford Custom (West Warwick PD) (David)

This last police car is a local one. Here is a 1950 Ford Custom police car that served West Warwick, RI  during the 1950s. This was the oldest car at the show, as most of the cars had been from the 1970s to the 1990s. This car was so simple though, compared to newer police cars with modern equipment. The owner kept it incredibly period correct.
