Friendship, New Jersey Salvage Yard
12/7/24
Sam revisits Ram Blacey's salvage yard in Friendship, New Jersey. His college friend Henry tagged along with his 1987 Honda Accord (pictured right) he is personally restoring. David also gave Sam a list of cars to find while at the yard, and surprisingly, he found all of them.
1972 Volvo 144
One of David's scavenger hunt cars.
David: I did not expect Sam to find this.
Triumph TR-6
A rather sad one.
Ford Falcon Wagon
One of David's scavenger hunt cars.
1967 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe
Possibly equipped with a Buick motor.
MOPAR A-Bodies
Back to front: 1975 Dodge Dart, 1977 Plymouth Volare, 1968 Plymouth Barracuda.
Also another of David's scavenger hunt cars.
Nash Metropolitan Series III
It could also be a Series IV.
1966 Plymouth Valiant Sedan
With an AMC Matador Coupe in the background.
Saab 96
David: A rather sad example of a pretty rare car in the United States. This Saab 96 looks to be a very early production example, going by the design of the front fenders. It could be a 1960 to 1964 car, as for 1965, the front end design was completely uphauled. This also has the legendary Saab 2 Stroke engine.
It could be a very late model 93. The 96 and the 93 were almost identical with a few key differences, but I'd have to see this car in person to know for sure. However, the 96 was far more common in the US than the 93 was, so I'm going to assume its a 96 for now.
Above: 1960 Chevrolet Impala Sedan
Front and center, this Impala is equipped with a straight six engine, and a rare flat-top roofline accessory option. What other classics can you spot in this photo?
1986 Chrysler LeBaron
What better way to finish a salvage yard scavenger hunt?
