Bike Ride 4
7/18/20
David: Bike Ride 4 was kept around the area of my neighborhood in Cranston. I had ventured out to other areas in town, but never really photographed the cars near me. This ride focuses on some of these local classics from my neighborhood.
Lowrider Caddy
Here we have a lowrider Cadillac De Ville. I really think the picture speaks for itself, but I had never seen this car before in my area. I think it ended up selling on Facebook Marketplace last year, as a very similar car popped up.
Shabby Caddy
Once again, we have another Caddy. This one has been parked here since I can remember. It's in very rough shape too, being that its missing some trim, has a few dents, and some rust. Poor Caddy.
Volvo 122 Amazon Sedan: The Neighborhood Classic
This car is also one that I remember always being around since I was a kid. Like that GTO from the early days entries, the owner has had this car in the same condition since I remember. It has moved around though, and it looks to be a solid car. I think he gave up on it, because it sold on Facebook Marketplace.
This car can be seen again in Bike Ride 11.
Double Trouble: 1992 Jaguar XJS Convertible and a Ford Escort
Here we have a '92 Jaguar XJS Convertible and a 2nd Gen Ford Escort. What a duo. The Ford Escort happened to be in the picture coincidentally, as I was more focused on the Jaguar instead. This XJS has been here for some time, and I'm not sure on its current state because it always seems to be parked there.
The owner of the Jaguar has had several Jaguars before, most notably an E-Type. I remember seeing it when I was younger, and being really fascinated by it. I had a Matchbox car of an E-Type, and I really loved its elegant styling. The E-Type is by far one of my British sports cars.
1988 Volvo 240
This is the beginning of the 240s on this page. This one was also for sale at the time. I almost bought this car. I was so close, but I backed out, as I wanted to continue saving money up. I don't regret not buying it, as someone else did, but immediately listed it again, so something wasn't quiet right with it. You can also see that this has been used, and certainly has seen better days.
This 240 can be seen again in Bike Ride 5.
Lincoln Town Car
Oh suspension sag. Here we have a 1990s Lincoln Town Car, with a very saggy rear suspension. These second and third generation Town Cars are plagued with that problem. There's another town car later on in the Winter 2020 collection that shows a third gen Town Car with the same problem. Apparently Ford didn't learn their lesson. Aside from that, this Town Car is another local classic, its usually parked in this spot, and is often seen around town. These older Town Cars are slightly becoming less common these days, and its always a pleasant sight to see one of the last ever body-on-frame classic American luxury cars.
