Mid Summer Cars

More summer cars

I was visiting my friend whose parents have a timeshare down in Jamestown when I found this car.  He told me the owners have had this car for a few years, but he thinks it replaced another worn B body of similar vintage.  Ironically enough, exactly one year after these photos were taken, I saw what I believe to be the same car (same color, same top, same Mass plates) on the highway in the general vicinity of the timeshare.

7/24/21 - Street Parked Volvo 240 Wagon (David)

This 240 Wagon was spotted parked on the side of the road in Downtown Providence. Nice!

7/23/21 - 1983 Buick Regal (David)

This is yet another classic daily beater I see around my area sometimes. I saw this coming out of work one day, and there's really not much to say about it. I remember it was worn out, and the rims didn't look stock.

7/28/21 - Morris Minor 1000 Convertible (RHD) (David)

Wow! A right hand drive Morris Minor! These cars were made in England from 1956 to 1971, and barely changed the design up. I don't know too much about these other than that, but I was still impressed to see one out and about. This was found in Pawtuxet Village, parked at a restaurant. It was also in great shape as well. The car also had matching dog dish rims to go with the light blue paint on the car.

8/6/21 - MGB Roadster (David)

I was doing some school shopping at the Warwick Mall, and when I was walking back to my car, I saw this British icon in the parking lot. I went over to check it out, and some guy, who was not the owner also came over to check it out. He was an MG enthusiast, because he mentioned that the way to identify these cars is by the bumpers. From 1967 to '72, they used the regular chrome bumpers, but in 1973, they changed to the infamous rubber bumpers on the North American export vehicles.

Above: (8/6/21) - 1965 Chevelle Malibu Convertible (Sam)

This is technically a pre-Maine trip sighting, since I saw it on the ride up.  The car had a taillight out (probably a bad connection), but other than that it looked to be in nice shape.  My phone did its best to capture it, but it couldn't really compete with the fading daylight.  I actually saw another identical '64 Malibu convertible at the  Wheels & Wings show once I got to Maine, but it had different plates on it.   Unless the owner pulled a James Bond, I was blessed with two metallic blue Chevelles in one week.
