Bike Ride 5
8/8/20
David: Like Bike Ride 4, Bike Ride 5 sticks to the streets of Cranston, but this time I found a little more than last time. Lots of Chevys and even a K-Car! That alone should tell you you're in for a treat.
The Beige Volvo 240 Revisited
This is the same Volvo 240 from Bike Ride 4, only this time its from a different angle.
BMW 325i Convertible (E30)
Here we have a second gen BMW 325i Convertible. I love the BMW 3 Series. It just has that timeless classic BMW look, and its one of the last BMWs to sport that look. This is a great example of a 325.
1984 Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country Convertible
This is it. This is the crown jewel of all K-Cars. If you're looking for an iconic vehicle look no further. The K-Car is an 80s icon. Aside from being the car that pulled Chrysler back into financial stability , this car was that car that was used in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. If this car could talk it would say "fasten your seat belts." Please tell me you understand that joke.
This car can be seen again in Bike Ride 12.
1966 Chevy Impala Convertible
Back at Andy's (as well as the K-Car), we have one of the best years of the Impala. Sadly, its incomplete and on jack stands, but I was able to see it finished, and it looked great. However, I was unable to photograph it.
1964 Chevy Pick-Up
No frills, no fancy trims, what you see is what you get with these. These trucks are mostly gone or nice show pieces now, but this is a survivor. Now where most modern trucks are basically luxury vehicles, I love seeing these old trucks still in use still doing what they were designed to do.
1970 Ford Galaxie 500 XL
I found this car off Elmwood Ave near the Cranston/Warwick border, and it was also in a sea of lawn mowers. You really should see this place. Whoever owns it has at least 100 ride on lawn mowers parked in the front lot. It's quite a sight. Anyways, when I went to take a picture of it, these people pulling into the lot behind it gave me the dirtiest look. It was a very uncomfortable situation.
1967 Chevy Camaro SS
This is just gorgeous. Must I say more?
1977 Chevy Nova: A Malaise Era Classic
This is once again an example of an American car that no one really gives much attention to. the late 70s weren't particularly the greatest of times for American cars as imports were gaining popularity and of course there was the oil crisis. Still, it's a really fresh example of a late 70s Nova.
