Summer 2019

6/20/19 to 8/9/19

David: Summer 2019 was an exciting summer. We were half way done with high school, and beginning to dabble in the world of employment and college applications. Once again, this was the pre-blog era, so the cars seen in these entries weren't intentionally photographed for publishing, but we still got some cool finds. I will note that this was the start of occasionally photographing "classics out on the road" around my neighborhood. And, fun fact, that was one of the original names we thought of for this blog.

12/29/18 - 1966 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan (David)

A bit of a precursor to Summer 2019, this '66 Pontiac was spotted by my dad on the East Bay Bike Path in Warren, RI. The East Bay Bike Path starts in East Providence and makes its way through Warren and Barrington, ending in Colt State Park in Bristol. This Pontiac was parked at a construction area, hence the tractor in the background. It's really nice to see classic American boats like this one still out and about. It's not often you get to see these kinds of cars. Next to it looks to be an IROC Camaro convertible, which is pretty cool to see too.

6/20/19 - 1968 Ford F-100 Stakebed Truck (David)

Funnily enough, my dad spotted this one too. It's at a Lowe's parking lot in Warwick, RI I believe. This looks to be a true work truck, as the plates on it are still commercial plates, meaning who ever owns this still uses it. That's super cool.

7/8/19 - Chevy Monte Carlo (David)

Here we have an early '80s Chevy Monte Carlo. This car has been parked in this exact spot ever since I was a kid. I don't think its ever moved. It has always had that primer gray paint job too. The camera angle is bad because we were driving in the car at the time and were moving.

7/16/19 - 1962 Chevy Corvette (C1) (David)

My sister found this Corvette. I believe its a '62, going by the inner fender scoops. Its been modified a little bit, with some new rims and some chrome removal. I'm not a huge fan of the rims, but I love the red paint. The old C1 Corvettes look amazing in red. If he put the GM Rallye rims on, it would look amazing. But, this is just my opinion.

7/28/19 - 1952 Plymouth Ad (David)

This is a 1952 Plymouth ad from the Providence Journal. I remember I saw it right before my family went on our trip to Canada, and I took a picture of it. You can't really read the text in the middle, but look at all the models that Plymouth offered that look completely the same. The reason is, the more chrome and larger engine meant you got the more luxurious car.

8/9/19 - 1954 Plymouth Cranbrook "Police Car" (David)

Speaking of classic Plymouths, I found this in a Walmart parking lot and I remember thinking it looked a little funny. I love the amber light bar on the top and the wires leading inside the car. It looks out of place in so many ways. I really hope who ever owns this has finished this project.
