Early Spring Spotting '22
3/26/22 to 4/11/22
Spring has sprung. And that means one thing and one thing only: time to look for more cars! With the warmer weather comes more opportunities for classics to hit the road, so owners begin taking their rides out of hibernation and start cruising around. Here's our early finds for the year.

Pic 2: (4/11/2022) - The Same '72 El Camino on Warwick Ave.
A Warwick native, this '72 El Camino was spotted in two different places by two different people. I found it the first time on Post Road, a main street that connects Warwick and Cranston. It's a pretty nice ride, and a Warwick local. Besides this spotting, I had seen this multiple times in the area, so it is a driver.
The second photo was taken by our friend Paul D. Thanks for sharing Paul!
3/27/2022 - 1979 Dodge D-100 Pickup Spotted in RI (Sam)
This is another find by my dad. From the photo, the truck looks to be in nice shape. However, I don't know much more about it than that. Judging by the vehicle's condition and the antique plates on it, this truck might have spent the winter tucked away in a garage. The owner could have just taken it out for its first drive of the year when this photo was taken.
4/1/2022 - Ford Crown Victoria P-71 on a Flatbed on Washington Rd. at Princeton (Sam)
This car is either legitimately broken down, or someone pulled the greatest April fools prank in college history (hence the date). This is an actual Princeton Police Department car (or a Crown Vic done up as one), so who knows what shenanigans the person towing it was up to.
4/7/2022 - 2008 Saab 9-3 Turbo X Spotted in North Providence, RI (Sam)
This car came up for sale a few blocks from where I live. I think the owner is a Saab fanatic, as there's a silver 9-3 convertible that's often parked behind it. Being the wonderful friend that I am, I immediately notified David that there was a Saab for sale. As of August of 2022, this car is still for sale.
David: The Saab 9-3 Turbo X was only around for one year in 2008. It's a special anniversary model commemorating the 30th anniversary of the first performance turbocharged Saab, the 1978 99 Turbo. They're pretty rare, which means the fetch fairly high prices for late model Saabs. I'd love to have one someday in my Swedish car collection.
4/9/2022 - BMW 325i (E30) Near Federal Hill, Providence (David)
Here's a clean example of a classic BMW E30. It was spotted close to Federal Hill, an area in Providence. This one has been modified a bit, with Euro-Spec bumpers, a new exhaust, and rims. I'm unsure if the green paint is factory, but it looks good in that color.
4/11/2022 - Model T on Campus (Sam)
This Model T is owned by one of the professors on campus, and he periodically brings it in for one of the classes he teaches as a point of demonstration. I came out of my computer science class one day to find it put-put-putting away a few yards from where I left my bike.
This Model T can be seen again in the Mid Fall Finds '22 collection.
